The third issue I have has to do with the ability to set custom alarm sounds. It's a default alarm sounds regardless of if you're setting a timer in the kitchen, or setting an alarm in the bedroom. To set an alarm on Google Home without voice, you’ll need to use the Google Home app. Once you have the app open, tap the Devices icon in the top right corner. Then, select your Google Home device from the list. From here, you can set an alarm by tapping the plus sign in the bottom right corner.
That’s it, you don’t need to do anything else, the volume will change instantly. Open the Google Home app on your iOS or Android device. Use the links to download and install the app if you haven’t already. These sounds are very relaxing and you can use them any time you like, whenever you want to let off some steam and just chill.
Change alarm volume
Imagine waking up to your favorite song from Spotify! Well, that’s possible with the help of music alarms in Google Home. For that, first, you need to set a default music provider in the Google Home app.
They will only be played through the Google Home displays or speakers. The tone of the basic alarm sound can’t be changed. Your alarm will play for 10 minutes if you don’t turn it off. If you have any other questions or comments, fire away in the comments section below.
How to Set Alarm in Google Home Mini
Use the voice command as you normally would, and Google Home will pull the song from Spotify’s library by default. The first is that alarms set on your google assistant connected phone do not show up or play on the google home. You are required to tell the google home to set alarms for days and times etc. Over the past few years, Google has slowly improved your ability to set, view, and stop timers and alarms on Assistant speakers and displays. You can turn off a timer and general or media alarms without saying, ‘Hey Google’. This is available on Google Nest or Home speakers and displays in English-speaking countries.
You can set fun alarms from some of your favourite characters for an entertaining and easy way to get your day started. Even though there’s no official Google nanny feature or skill, the AI works great as one. Go ahead, ask your smart speaker to sing your kids a lullaby, or tell them a story. You might need to be more specific, but the software can choose a random story and lullaby.
Snoozing an alarm on Google Nest devices
“Hey Google, set a media alarm for 7 AM every day.” Google will then ask you which song you want to play at this time. You can answer with a song, album, playlist, or band. Similar to music alarms, you can wake up to the voice of your favorite characters. Not necessary to specify the day if it is for the same day or the next day.OK Google, set a as alarm tone for OK Google, play some music at .

Please note that this feature is currently available in English, German, French , Spanish and Japanese on all Google Home and Home speakers and displays. You can set them to show messages from Nickelodeon or Lego characters, rather than Google Assistant. And may also include verbal encouragement, fun facts, some jokes. Besides, these fun alarms can work as reminders when it’s time to stop playing and get ready for bed.
From here, you can view all of your current alarms. To change an alarm, tap on it and then make the necessary changes. To delete an alarm, tap and hold on to it and select ‘Delete’ when prompted. You can set a recurring daily alarm that goes off every single day or you can create one that repeats on the same day each week. Stop a timer or alarm with a tap on either side of the device.
This way, the software is ready to take commands without being wakened first. To set an alarm, say "Hey Google, set alarm for 6 AM tomorrow," or swipe up from the bottom of your display and tap Alarms, and then set a time. Alarm tones can be changed on Nest displays once you start an alarm.
Once Spotify is your default music player, you can choose to set any playlist from your Spotify library as an alarm. You can select an artist, band, or song from Spotify as your preferred alarm as well. Rather than changing the general alarm, it’s much easier to use a voice command to add a media alarm. You can choose any song you want to be your media alarm on Google Home.
The alarm from Google Home devices will continue to sound for 10 minutes if it’s not stopped or snoozed. Even though you can check and cancel Google Home alarms from your phone, you cannot create an alarm from either phone or computer. But, you can set a reminder from both phone and PC, and Google Home will remind you about that. You cannot directly change the alarm tone on your Google Home, Mini, or Nest. But you can set a music or character alarm tone, as shown in the next section.
You can set Spotify, YouTube Music, etc. as your default music provider. Someone on this feed posted about saying "Hey Google, I'm up" to turn off alarms. I can't implement this as is because of the shortcuts I've already got set for this command. It tells me about my day when I tell it "Hey Google, Good Morning". The second is that, because of the issues with the google home mini always listening, they've disabled to touch control on top. So where with the original google home you could tap the top and stop the alarm, you cannot do that with the home mini.

Here are some of the best ways to use your Google Nest Hub or Mini smart speaker as an alarm. Unfortunately, any sort of touch control on the top of the Home Mini is still missing. You will need to summon Google Assistant using your voice, instead of a long-press on the top of Home Mini as was originally intended.
